Why did I want to join Taekwondo?

A Martial Arts program isn’t meant to give children the tools to fight a bully. Rather, a great program will show kids that there’s no reason to fight. It teaches them that they have nothing to fear or prove. It removes the fear that a bully thrives on by giving the child confidence in their ability to defend themselves.
I decided to join Taekwondo for multiple reasons:
1.) I was bullied in my old school and wanted a fresh start so I can defend myself, inside and out.
2.) I had inspiration from a TV show
3.) I wanted to control my anger
It was difficult for the third one, I trained every day after school to relieve stress, and it actually worked. I was able to take my anger out on the bags and paddles, and now I'm a much more calmer and responsible person. I'm courteous to my peers and I keep my anger in, no matter how much people bother me.
